The Classical Theater Competition is a literary and theatrical activity directed at public and private high schools across Upper Metn, targeting students in grades 10 and 11 (ages 14–18).
Scenes were selected from two plays by the international playwright William Shakespeare: The Tragedy of Hamlet and King Lear. The event was held on the stage of the Sisters of Saint Joseph de Lyon School in Deir El-Harf.
The competition was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with the presence of the Minister's advisor Dr. Nader Hadifeh, who addressed attendees after the competition. Also present were the representative of the President of the Upper Metn Municipalities Union Mr. Raja Abu Raslan and local officials.
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished jury of Lebanon's most prominent figures in the arts and language: artist Elsie Farneini, Syndicate President and artist George Shalhoub, artist Nicola Daniel, artist Michel Hourani, Syndicate President Jihad Al-Atrash, and director Makram Al-Rayyis.
Syndicate President George Shalhoub announced the results, with Qornayel Official Secondary School claiming first place.
