Classical Theater Competition 2022–2023

Classical theater competition 2022–2023
It can truly be said that this is the first competition of its kind in the Metn region — and we are proud to say that it has resonated positively among the schools that participated in 2022 and with the community at large. We must recognize the role of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their interest and cooperation, as well as the colleagues and friends of Higher Metn Artisan — tireless volunteers who give their best to ensure participants receive the most beneficial experience possible. Our gratitude goes to everyone who contributed to and participated in the first season. The experience of the high school students who formed the competing teams was an inspiring one, opening new horizons for those with dreams and helping some discover their talents. A theatrical troupe has even formed from among those students — and we encourage and support them to continue. This opportunity was made possible by Higher Metn Artisan in cooperation with the Syndicate of Professional Artists in Lebanon, led by Syndicate President George Shalhoub, and by artist Michel Hourani, who conducted a theatrical performance workshop for the competing teams during their preparation. The jury consisted of seasoned artists with distinguished careers in acting and directing. We must acknowledge and express deep gratitude to founding member and Board of Trustees President, Syndicate President Jihad Al-Atrash, who believed in this idea and contributed enormously to bringing it to the standard we all witnessed. Today we are preparing to present the new season of the Classical Theater Competition between Upper Metn high schools, working to make it even more distinguished than the last.
