Establishing the Higher Metn Artisan Theatre Troupe

Higher Metn Artisan theater troupe rehearsal
Following the success of the Classical Theater Competition between Upper Metn secondary schools, the revival of theatrical life in the region, and the growing public appreciation for meaningful theater, Higher Metn Artisan established a theater troupe comprising school students and interested youth. The troupe performs original productions written specifically for Higher Metn Artisan, carrying messages for the community and shining a light on social issues. The troupe was launched with a production titled "From Life," performed on the stage of the National Library in Baakline on March 12, 2025, to mark the library's 38th founding anniversary — with proceeds benefiting the library's fund. The second performance was held in Upper Metn on the stage of the Marie-Joseph de Lyon Sisters School on April 11, 2025. The troupe's plays are written by Higher Metn Artisan's founder, visionary, and board president Mrs. Inas Nuwayhed. General supervision over the troupe's work is provided by co-founder and vice president Mrs. Antoinette Shahin, with artistic direction and collaboration from syndicate president and artist Jihad Al-Atrash.
